About
A faculty member in the Department of Health Studies at American University in Washington, DC, I teach courses in public health and health promotion and am the author of Health Promotion Moving Forward: A Population Health Approach (Springer Publishing Company, 2024). I have three decades of experience as a public health practitioner planning, implementing and evaluating health programs, with a special interest in health promotion efforts geared toward teens and young adults. For more than a decade, I coordinated prevention programs for students at the University of Maryland and American University. Recently, I served as President of the Maryland Public Health Association and contribute as a volunteer to a variety of community outreach efforts. I also provide health promotion program consultation for a wide range of clients.
